When a Death Occurs

North Shore Funeral Home Time Peace for IF a Death Occurs Page

The North Shore Funeral Home should be notified immediately by the hospital, nursing home, other institution, clergy or family member.

Our phone number is (902) 961-3304 or toll free 1-888-449-3304 and is answered 24 hours a day.

After the funeral home has been notified of the death, a director will contact the next of kin or the person responsible, to set a time to make the necessary arrangements. This meeting normally takes place at the funeral home.

Personal information about the deceased will be needed as well as a set of clothing and a picture. The time and place of the visitation and funeral will be decided at this time. The clergy or celebrant must be contacted before times for the visitation and funeral can be set. At this time also, the notices for the radio and newspaper will be prepared.

The loss of a loved one is a very traumatic experience. Our funeral home staff are specially trained to travel through this difficult time with you, with compassion and understanding. We can help you regardless of the circumstances or place of death, even if it is outside of Prince Edward Island.

When you come to the funeral home, you will need the following information about the deceased:
