MacPhee, Gladys Teresa – April 20, 2020

The death occurred peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2020, at Souris Hospital with her daughters by her side of Gladys Teresa MacPhee (nee MacDonald) of Monticello in her 73rd year. Born on August 7, 1947, in St. Margaret’s, the daughter of the late Hughie and the late Mary Jane (nee MacDonald) MacDonald. Beloved and cherished wife of 54 years of George ‘Mel’ MacPhee of Monticello. Loving and devoted mother of Mel, Bernard (Crystal Manning), Susan (Trent) Keus, all of Monticello, and Nancy (Jeremy MacDonald) MacPhee of Summerside. Special and cherished Mammie of Alex (Katie Jordan) McDougall, Hannah (Alex Wilson) Keus, Bradley Keus, Bethany Dickson, Lalah and Deseray McCormack, and Liam MacDonald. Special great-Mammie to Elliot and Oliver. Beloved sister and best friend by choice of Barb O’Hanley of St. Peter’s Bay. Left to mourn are her siblings, Mary Flynn of Monticello, John (Christine) MacDonald of Naufrage, Bernie (Jenny) MacDonald of Hermitage Road, Wayne (Loretta) of Naufrage, Pauline Carter of Midgell, Phyllis MacDonald of Selkirk, Eileen (Glen) Cameron of South Lake, and Donna (Peter MacIntyre) MacLeod of Morell, as well as sister-in-law Mary Warren, brother-in-law John (Mary) MacPhee, and numerous nieces and nephews. Also left to mourn is special family friend Eugene ‘Gene’ MacDonald. Predeceased by her parents, her sister Dorothy ‘Dot’ O’Hanley, and brother Donnie. No visitation at this time. Funeral Service and Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Gladys’ family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and deepest gratitude to the nursing staff at Souris Hospital, Dr. Thor Christensen, Dr. Greg Malone, the staff at the PEI Cancer Centre, and especially to Barb, Gene, Eileen and son-in-law Trent for their constant support and love. Gladys was loved and loved so many, and her loss will leave a huge void in the hearts and lives of many. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to North Shore Funeral Home, Morell.
